Poop and holes..what a day!

Sydney is obsessed with talking about poop. Poop comes up at snack time, dinner, in the car, playdates, restaurants, when company is over, etc... Syd's all time favorite poop is "dog poop" (or at least talking about it) I know...crazy....but that's my funny little girl. Syd, has even applied her obsession for "dog poop" in statements aimed at me....for example....while I'm putting her in time-out, she proudly looks at me, with a SMILE, and calls me "dog poop"!! She giggles all the way to T.O. Grrrrr and a laugh for me all wrapped up into one. Sometimes, I just don't know what to do. Sydney really did break the mold.

Well, you would think with all of this talk about poop, that she would actually do it in the potty. Well, she did today, and I was soooooo proud. Now, we just need to see if this will continue (update...it did not).

Another big moment today, besides poop, was Aubrey got her ears pierced. She had been asking for such a long time, so Steve and I surprised her tonight. This was an early birthday present.

Thanks Aubrey for sharing!

Steve and I had to be up early one morning, so he jumped in one shower and I jumped in the other. I wasn't feeling real well, so I just stood under the hot water, just letting it beat over my head and body. Total peace.....AAAAAAHHHHH.

Why I am telling you this???

While enjoying my wonderful, hot, shower alone, the door bell rings. Aubrey looked out the window, and saw who it was...Kristen a Premier consultant...dropping off a magazine for a show I was having. Steve told her she would have to come back, so Aubrey relayed the message for him. Wasn't that so nice!!

Jo, one of my friends and neighbors, called me laughing hysterically. Jo had just got off the phone with Kristen who had stopped by. Jo informed me what Aubrey had said to Kristen, "my Mommy and Daddy can't come to the door right now, that are both in the shower." UGH.

Being PC..what's that?

I was showering my two girls this morning, when Sydney looked at me and said, "Mommy, you have a big butt." Well, Aubrey has said this before, and Steve and I had to explained to her, that this is not the best thing to say. Well, while I am feeling a little self conscience, Aubrey piped in, in efforts to rescue me. With that in mind, Aubrey tells her younger sister, "Sydney, mommy doesn't have a big butt, she has a small butt....like her boobies." Ouch...

Maymont pics of the girls

Today, Josie and I headed out to Maymont Park to take some new pics of my girls.I think they turned out great...but I think the subjects are cute too (I am not bias at ALL!!)

Look how big they are getting, and right before my eyes. Aubrey is an upcoming Kindergartner and Sydney the preschooler.

Kids say the funniest things....

Aubrey--"Mommy, Claire is sleeping as hard as a rug." Funny, that's two sayings combined!! "Snug as a bug, in a rug" and..."sleeping as hard as a rock".

Sydney--Sydney and I were playing patty-cake. Sydney wanted to do it herself...and here is how it went, "pancake, pancake, man, man, man".

Boy, do I enjoy the little things. They grow up so fast.

Adventures in Potty Training

Sydney has been potty training for a few months now. She has "peepee" down....but poop is other story. As we know kids learn and process things through play. Syd loves to make her babies go potty, so buying her a little doll "potty set", only made sense. This little potty is so cute! It even makes a flushing sounds!!

Through play, she is really trying to grasp the whole concept of potty training....really trying!! Well, Sydney needed to go potty the other day, and she went to the nearest potty. Do you think it was her potty....or....the baby dolls!! Well, if you know Syd...it was the dolls.....and YES, pee was everywhere!! I could not get upset with her. She did try to use a POTTY, but I do really need to clarify a few things for her.
