The plan that is always changing

Sorry for the delay in update.  Internet issues in the hospital, and a dead computer battery......

Today has been a day for changes. Last night Estelle's pain leg/pelvic plan increased and spread.  She has been very uncomfortable...she feels as if she has over exercised.  Dr Evans (cards) was concerned about the location of the pain.  A cath would be placed in the area of the pain which, he feels, is not a good idea.  They need to know why this is happening.  Dr Evans paged Dr White (neuro) to come a assess Estelle.  Dr White pricked Estelle all over her body to see if there was any difference in touch.  Estelle felt some difference in her legs.  She is having issues with moving them up.  She feels like she just cannot..or it is just too sore to move.  Dr White ordered an MRI, and it is scheduled for 6:15pm this evening. They will be looking at her core (tummy area) and her L-spine and t-spine.  We hope we will know more soon. Waiting is so hard, and frustrating.

Now that we are going into a holiday weekend, and even if the cath was still possible, the Dr who places the defibrillator will be "off", or in his office until Tuesday.  He will not be able to do anything until Wednesday. Estelle, as for the rest of us, were a little frustrated with good reason, and he was sharp with Estelle and walked out of the room.  UGH.

On a positive note, Estelle looks as pretty as ever!  She is talkative, has a great sense of humor, and is quite the good patient. She is enjoying all of the messages left (we are reading them to her) and knowing all the people who care about her and that are praying.
