Long Night

Sydney has not been able to sleep since she came out of surgery and she must be feeling pretty miserable. She'll take tiny little cat naps for 10 or 15 minutes and then jerk awake and cry. She wants to drink juice so badly, but she hasn't been able to keep anything down. They are wondering if she may be having a reaction to the calcium that they're giving her to help her heart rate. Please pray for Sydney to get some much needed sleep, it doesn't seem like she can recuperate without it.

In good news, she is completely off her pacer! Yay Sydney. She is still in junctional rhythm but that's ok; she went home after her past two surgeries still in junctional and then she converted back into normal sinus on her own. Late last night they began weaning her off of the epi that was helping stabilize her blood pressure and she she was responding well to that. Her sats have been hanging out in the high 80s and low 90s, higher when she's not agitated, so we hope once she can rest that they will stay in the 90s.

Christy and Steve are with her right now, but poor Stephen hasn't slept in almost two days. We're hoping that he can come home and get some sleep so that he stays strong for his baby! We'll update more when we can.

Lots of love,

Josie (for Christy & Steve)
