A very short update

I am so tired my hands are shaking, so this will be short and not as detailed as Josie has been doing (thanks Josie!!).

We had a Great day! Busy day. They have mentioned the words discharge...maybe at the beginning of the week (knock on wood). We will see. Things can change, but we can pray for more improvement everyday. Sydney had her drainage tube removed, central line out, clear chest x-ray...just a little adoelinis (sp??--aka surgery snot), she worked with pt and walked, ate some food without puking, I got to hold her for the first time, and we were d/c'd to the floor and by the grace of God put in a private room.

We are still working on pooping! She needs to poop!! All that talk about poop Syd...now it is time to do it!! We are still working on getting her off of O2 (this has been back and forth), making sure her lungs stay clear, and continue to eat.

I am going to sleep next to my very missed 6 year old. I am exhausted, and need some snuggles from her.

Thanks for checking in,
Christy

  1. Hang in there! We continue to be thinking about you all. If I was there I would take a shift with Syd in a heartbeat so you could get some rest! I continue to hope that Syd progresses well so she can come home. And I hope she poops! Lots of Love to you all.
