She is satting 89 right now.....is this real?!

I had not updated earlier, because there was not much to tell.  We have been continuing to watch Sydney working hard to breath...not able to peepee...tummy still big. The doctors are all keeping a close eye on her, with the new meds they are trying.  One is Viagra---used to dilate her blood vessels so flow will be better. Two is Lasix--which they have increased, because she is having trouble getting rid of fluid.

Sydney has been more active today.  She has been smiling, giggling, and in general....a goof ball!!  I LOVE her little personality.  She is a sassy little girl, and can be so much fun.  I have been soaking up every minute of this...coloring, painting,  playdoh, bubbles, and more.  Syd is not able to run, but she sure can still play.

We did find out today that surgery will most likely be Tuesday.  There is a slight possibility that it could be moved up to Monday--but this is unlikely.  We have been getting a lot more information about the pacemaker, and what to expect. They are trying to "change the timing of the (heart) beat"because the upper part of the heart (sa node)--atrium--is suppose to beat first, then, communicate with the "middle" if the heart (av node), and squeeze down.  This will make her heart act like it is in sinus rhythm, even though it really is not.  This is all new to me. Syd's heart will be a little more challenging to pace, because her normal heart rhythm is pretty high.  So, this means the doctors will have to give her meds to lower her heart rate, so the pacemaker can override the heart beat/rate.

Sydney's evening has been better.  She has started to peepee.  She is drinking and eating good.  Her sats have been higher.  So high in fact, the staff had to lower the O2 she is getting to 1 littler.  This is great news...we think.  This might means the new meds are working.  Syd seems to be comforable right now, and hopefully going to bed soon.

I would like to thank all of the visitor for coming and lifting our spirits. I also want to thank Josie for keeping me sane and offering support!!

Thanks for checking in.

Love Christy
