I was included in rounds today, so I could get any remaining questions answered. We tested albuteral and now have an "asthma action plan". Her x-ray was taken (looks good, but waiting for the official word). Sydney's pacer was been adjusted (in Atrial pacing 86% of the time, and Ventricular pacing 23% of the time). The only way to totally override the junctional pacing is to give Sydney meds, and she is doing fine the way she is, so we are leaving well enough alone. Cards is happy with Syd's progress. They just wanted one more night to just make sure all is well with her. Cards is about as gun shy as I am right now, after seeing how sick Sydney was.
She's back!! Sydney is running, jumping, prancing and singing. She is still very traumatized by all that has happened (hides her face when people talk to her and saids, "Mommy"), but boy does she have energy!! I love it! My girl can run!! It has taken 4 surgeries, 4 caths, and a team of people (friends, family, nurses and doctors) to get us here! Wow! What a ride, but boy is she ever worth it! I hope when we are discharged tomorrow...yes, that's right...discharged after 22 days in the hospital, we can try to return to a somewhat "normal life".
Thanks for all of your continued support and prayers. What a blessing you all have been.
Love to all,
Christy
