Things seem to remain about the same. An x-ray will be taken tomorrow to make sure Sydney is not developing any infusions (fluid around the heart) which would require her to need a chest tube placed. Dr Matherne, head of cards, wants to be cautious about discharging soon early. I agree! We will not push to be d/c'd.
We were transferred to the floor today, and put into a room with another child (a 17 year old girl). This situation is not ideal....but it is what it is. We were a little spoiled having our own room. The family is nice...just a little lack of privacy for all involved.
Sydney continues to have a good and happy spirit. She has even been a little sassy! That's my girl, feeling better! Sydney has been playing and walking a lot today. She loved visiting with Kirby and Susan today...lots of drawing and [laydow fun to be had. She would not take a nap today (normal for well Sydney) and crashed before 8pm tonight! I am still seeing her having ventricular pacing, and I informed the staff. The resident took a look at it, and said she was ok...but would let cards know in the am. Pulmonary also plans to do an albuterol test tomorrow on Sydney...so we can make an asthma action plan before we go home. Sydney is eating a drinking better. I do want to know what are the acceptable heart rates for Sydney when active though.
We will let you all know what the plan is tomorrow--when we find out. I am going to cuddle with my little girl. So good night to you all.
Love,
Christy
